The unique design of the VForce reed valve system has twice the reed tip surface than conventional reed valve designs. This has two main benefits: 1) The reed flap has half the travel of a traditional reed valve design for the same airflow. 2) Because the reed flaps only need to travel half the distance on traditional reed valve designs, they are more likely to be fully open and also have a better chance of sealing when they are "closed". In the classic sense, a reed petal is never really "closed" because it is always in motion. With that in mind, an engine running at 8,000 RPM would cause the reed petals to open and close 133 times in a second. This fact reveals another advantage of VForce. Since the petals only travel half the distance, they generally last longer because they experience less wear and tear than the reed petals on traditional reed valve designs.
